Revenues

Revenues increased by 38.1%, up to 11,195 million euros, with the following evolution in the different activity areas:

  • A 76% increase in ACCIONA Energía's revenues driven by growth of 47.7% in its generation business and of 120.9% in its commercial sales and other businesses.
  • 23.5% increase in revenue of the infrastructure area, with a 25.8% growth in construction, -1.8% in concessions, +20.9% in water and -10.3% in urban services and environment.
  • Revenues from other activities increased by 12.1% compared to 2021, driven by the positive evolution of urban electric mobility, airports, and facility services.

Sustainable commitment as a competitive difference

Since its foundation at the beginning of the 20th century, ACCIONA has been guided by responsibility. Social, ethical, and environmental values were already the company’s mainstays before the concept of sustainable development was considered a corporate responsibility, so ACCIONA became a benchmark in promoting business sustainability early on.

Looking ahead

ESG challenges for the coming years

In terms of ESG, ACCIONA has set a series of challenges for the coming years:

  • Reducing the accident frequency compared to 2022
  • Maintaining the investment of 90% CapEx or more (the figure in 2022 has reached 98%) in sustainable activities according to the European Taxonomy
  • Reducing GHG emissions by 60% compared to 2017, in line with the 1.5ºC of the Science-Based Targets

2025 SMP levers to activate in 2023

In 2023, the company plans to activate the following levers of the 2025 SMP:

  • Disseminating the new corporate purpose, promise and principles.
  • Global implementation of a new online assessment tool for the first stage of the selection process.
  • Implementing risk analysis related to nature in line with the TNFD framework guidelines.
  • Expanding corporate reporting by adding specific human rights and diversity reports to the current ones.
  • Promoting the Regenerative Playbook content to employees with the aim of raising awareness and educating on the company's values.
  • Approving the Stakeholder Relationship Policy.
